FAQ
ParticipantUsually the materials in multi-material Euler domain are fluids which have low sound speed that leads to high stability time step. However, the materials in Lagrange parts are solids which have higher sound speed than fluids so that Lagrange materials are usually have lower stability time step than the Euler materials. Thus, the mass scaling in Explicit Dynamics system doesn’t apply to the materials in the Euler domain. Mass scaling is applied to every material in the Lagrange parts. If you turn mass scaling on, all the Lagrange elements in the model will be applied with mass scaling. To view how much mass has been added to the system, you can look at the file “admodel.prt” from the MECH directory of the project. You can find mass scaling summary near the end of the file.
