FAQ
ParticipantWith academic licenses you need to ensure that “Settings > Product” is set to “Default.” This is necessary for ANSYS ICEM CFD to open the correct version based on the licenses it finds in the license file. If you make any changes in the settings menus, such as this, you will need to close and reopen ANSYS ICEM CFD for the new settings to take effect. Also, in ANSYS ICEM CFD 12.1 and earlier, you need to set it to academic licensing in the ANSLIC_ADMIN Utility. On the license server, you can access this from “Start > All Programs > ANSYS, Inc. License Manager > Server ANSLIC_ADMIN Utiltiy.” On the Client, you can access this from “Start > All Programs > ANSYS {version} > ANSYS Client Licensing > Client ANSLIC_ADMIN Utility.” You will need to right click and choose “run as administrator” on Vista and Windows 7. In this manager, press “Set License Preferences for User {user}.” Near the bottom half of the menu, check on “Use Academic Licenses” then press “OK.”
