This Solution describes how to fix the issue when DM on Windows does not start and the following WB error message AnsysWBU.exe encountered a problem. A diagnostic file has been written: C:Users
AppdataLocalTempAnsysWBDumpFile.dmp and DM error message Unable to start the geometry editor. Kann den Geometrie-Editor nicht starten. is obtained. 1) Check that the graphics card driver is up to date. 2) Unconfigure and re-configure the product and CAD installation with “Product & CAD Configuration” tool available from the Start menue. 3) Is the issue user specific, i.e. try with a different user login? a) open %APPDATA% and rename or remove the directory “Ansys” b) open %TEMP% and rename or remove the directory “.ansys” c) restart WB and try to open DM again d) if the above does not help, re-create the user profile on the Windows machine 4) check Firewall and virus scanner settings, or deactivate temporarily
