A correlation valid for turbulent pipe flows is suggested to calculate the proper entrance length to establish a fully-developped flow. This correlation is valid only for turbulent pipe flows (Re > 4000). An example is also given to show: – How to calculate the entrance length in a simple situation, – How to extrude the length of the pipe directly in Fluent to recover the fully-developped flow profile. Please see attachment for further details.
