Possible Resolutions: 1. Close out of all WorkBench sessions. 2. In Windows Explorer in the Address bar type: %appdata% and open the folder ‘Ansys’ 3. Locate the v150, v160, v170, v180 (whatever version corresponds to the version of Ansys you are having issues with). 4. Rename the folder, for example, v150, v160, v170, v180 to v1#0_old. 5. In Windows Explorer in the Address bar type: %temp% 6. Rename the .ansys folder 7. Start a new Workbench session. ——————– Check the graphics card and the driver version you are using. In the RUN command type: dxdiag In the Display tab ensure that your graphics card is a supported Ansys graphics card and that you have the latest graphics driver. In the Display tab ensure that your graphics card is a supported Ansys graphics card and that you have the latest graphics driver. If the output is showing that Intel Integrated Graphics is the primary graphics card taking precedence over your Professional graphics card then do the following: Open up Control Panel > nVidia control Panel > go to 3D settings > Manage 3D settings > Under Preferred Graphics Processor > choose nVidia > Apply If you have an AMD Radeon, Nvidia Matrix or are using the Intel Integrated graphics cards these will generally not work and are not supported. Please visit the graphics card vendors web site and download and install the newest graphics driver. ———————- Make sure you can resolve localhost. Open up a command window and type: ping localhost If it returns an IPv6 address disable IPv6. It should return something like this for IPv4 Pinging computer_name.domain.com [127.0.0.1] with 32 bytes of data Unlike the familiar IPv4 addresses which are 32 bits long, written in decimal, and separated by periods, IPv6 addresses are 128 bits long, written in hexadecimal, and separated by colons. An example might be: 3ffe:1900:4545:3:200:f8ff:fe21:67cf Step 1 Open up the properties of you network adapter and uncheck the IPv6 checkbox only. Doing, this however, only unbinds IPv6 from that particular network adapter. It doesn’t disable IPv6 in Windows and it doesn’t solve the common problems with IPv6 in Windows. To cleanly disable IPv6 a registry key must be added. The output should only show IPv4 addresses If you are running Window 8.1 or higher do an Internet search for disabling IPv6 via manually editing the registry. When you have disabled IPv6 a reboot is necessary. Diagnostics Needed: CLIENT: Please launch the ANSLIC_ADMIN Utility, click View Status/ Options, then Gather Diagnostic Information. Click “Yes” when prompted. This will gather some diagnostic information that should help figure out the problem. Please zip the directory which is created and upload to the Service Request, the path will show in the ANSLIC_ADMIN Utility window. Please also provide screenshots of any error messages.
