FAQ
ParticipantProblem/Description: These error messages are vague and could be the result of many possible problems. Unfortunately, we do not have documentation on these error messages to share, but based on past experience with these messages, we can give an overview. The message “Error: sopeninputfile: unable to open pipe for input” often indicates that Fluent is unable to write a file due to a problem with space, memory or permission. Often this error occurs when a large case file in.case.gz format (zipped format) is read by Fluent. Fluent must decompress the file into memory and read the case parameters. But if the file is too large, it is sometimes impossible to decompress it in memory. Solution: The solution is usually to decompress the file using another zip/RAR software outside Fluent, then read the.case file into Fluent. Another solution is to rise the RAM memory or the SWAP space.
